Lebanon

We have been working closely both in the community and academic sites at Lebanon:

Academic Affiliation:

American University of Beirut: We have been working with the academic emergency department with resident exchange and developing a training the trainer’s program for Simulation. We have been working on improving the ethics of Global Emergency Medicine Research with the leadership including presenting at SAEM didactics in collaboration with this premier institute from the middle east region. We have sent several of our EM faculty to Beirut to partake in developing their simulation program.

Community Affiliation:

AMEL Association International:  We have been working for the last 5 years with AMEL in building research capacity. AMEL has been spearheading the work among refugees in Lebanon and we have had faculty and students spend time at their site. We are in the process of creating a large data repository at this site helping to streamline the work being done there. We also had one of their core physician attend the GHRC course to help build foundation and partnerships.
